USAID has established numerous partnerships and collaborative programs between the U.S and Indonesian government.

On Thursday, 2 February 2012, a team of USAID visited Hasanuddin University. They provided information about how to do a postgraduate study in the U.S and about different kinds of the scholarships to study in the U.S.

The meeting was attended by 50 students, a few lecturers from the 14 faculties at Hasanuddin University.

American Indonesia Exchange Foundaton (AMINEF) annually offers Fulbright scholarships to Indonesians to study in the United States. Every year American Indonesian Exchange Foundation (AMINEF) sends their representatives to Hasanuddin University to disseminate information about Fulbright scholarship.

On Monday, 16 January 2012, AMINEF representative, Ms. Adeline, visited Hasanuddin University to do a presentation about Fulbright Scholarship. She was welcomed by Professor Dadang A. Suriamiharja – Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Hasanuddin University. The meeting was attended by lecturers from the 14 faculties at Hasanuddin Universiy. The meeting was also attended by fresh graduate students who were interested to continue their study in America through Fulbright programs for 2012 - 2013.

Some of the programs for Indonesians offered by Fulbright are Master’s Degree Programs (Deadline: April 15, 2012), Ph.D Programs (Deadline: April 15, 2012), Fulbright-Dikti Doctoral Dissertation Research Programs (Deadline: April 15, 2012), Fulbright Senior Research Program (Deadline: August 31, 2012), FLTA Program (Deadline: April 15, 2012), Community College Initiative Program (Deadline: November 1, 2012), and the Global UGRAD Program for undergraduate students who have completed their 1^st semester or are entering their 5^th semester (Deadline: November 1, 2012).

USAID (United States Agency for International Development) has been working in Indonesia for many years and until this period of time has established numerous partnerships and collaborative programs between the U.S and Indonesian government.

On Friday, 30 December 2011, USAID/Indonesia’s Mission Director Mr. Glenn Anders and his team visited Hasanuddin University. They were welcomed by Professor Idrus Paturusi – Rector of Hasanuddin University and Professor Dwia Aries Tina – Vice Rector for Planning, Development and Cooperation. The purpose of the visit is to discuss future education collaboration in higher education with Hasanuddin University. Mr. Glenn Anders also informed Hasanuddin University about the “PRESTASI” scholarship, a postgraduate program at the masters deglevel.

The meeting was attended by Deans of of the Faculties of Letters, Marine Science and Fisheries, Agriculture, and Economics and several professors and lecturers.

Hasanuddin University Nature Corps sailed to Darwin, Australia on an academic sailorship. Eight students of the Nature Corps joined in this trip. The purpose of their visit was to conduct workshop with Indonesian students in Australia on tracing Sulawesi Sailors to Australia and to exhibit Sandeq - Sulawesi traditional boat.

They arrived in Darwin on Monday, 21 November 2011 after sailing about 40 days. They were welcomed by Rector of Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. dr. Idrus Paturusi and his team members from Hasanuddin University, Staff of Indonesia Consulate in Darwin, and some people from Charles Darwin University.

The Rector was very proud of the 8 students as they had successfully sailed to Darwin, they were warmly welcomed in Darwin, and the Sandeq was accepted and put into a museum of Darwin. Viva Hasanuddin University Nature Corps !
