BIOGEOGRAPHY OF THE WALLACEA REGION
On Thursday, 2 February 2012, there were 22 students from Sidney University, Australia, and 7 students from Indonesia University in Jakarta visited Hasanuddin University. They attended the public lecture on Biogeography of the Wallacea Region and its relationship with Sulawesi. The lecture was conducted by Dr. Jeff Nielson of Sydney University. The group will stay in South Sulawesi for about two weeks as they plan to visit some places in South Sulawesi like Toraja, Palopo, and Sorowako.
This public lecture was held in Ruang rapat A, Rectorate Building, fourth floor. A number of students of Hasanuddin University attended the lecture and the two Lecturers: Professor Jamaluddin Jompa and Dr. Lukman from the Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries also contributed to the content presented by Dr. Jeff Nielson.
