Faculty of Agriculture Hasanuddin University holds an International Conference 2019

The Faculty of Agriculture, Hasanuddin University Makassar, South Sulawesi, held an International Conference entitled "The 2nd International Conference on Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture in the Tropics (IC-FSSAT) 2019", which took place at the Swiss Bel Hotel, Jalan Ujung Pandang, Makassar, Monday 2 September 2019.

The Rector of  Unhas, Prof. Dwia Aries Tina Pulubuhu, in his speech hoped that this activity would be a step to improve sustainable agricultural practices in order to achieve food security and the climate change crisis in the tropics.

"Of course our hope is that this conference will produce something useful for food security and climate change mitigation, especially in tropical regions," Dwia said.

Dwia believes that attending this conference will contribute both ideas and ideas that can be used as a reference for doing something positive and certainly beneficial, especially food security and sustainable agriculture.

Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Unhas, Prof. Baharuddin explained that this conference was a form of the Faculty of Agriculture's support to Hasanuddin University to go to World Class University (WCU) and as a downstream media on the results of research that had been conducted.

"This activity is one of the outputs of research and studies from lecturers and experts of the Faculty of Agriculture by presenting several stakeholders from several countries," Prof. Baharuddin said.

Prof. Baharuddin hopes there will be an exchange of knowledge, as well as new ideas and ideas that can be utilized. Basically we do this conference the ultimate goal is how the results of research at the Faculty of Agriculture can be delivered to the public.

This activity presented two Keynote Speakers, namely Dr. Ir Kasdi Subagyono, M.Sc. (Indonesian Director General of Forestry representing the Minister of Agriculture), and Mr. Guo-Jhong Moh (Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund). (*)
