I was born in Bogor, Indonesia, in 1957 and grew up in a campus environment : IPB University. This is a picture of my highschool campus:

I began my college education in 1975 and graduated from ITB Bandung in 1981. See a picture of my old campus below, but...... it is an aerial view from the very old days, 1925:

Then I worked with the Christian University Satya Wacana, Salatiga for two years until 1983. From then on, I have been with the Department of Electrical Engineering Hasanuddin University Ujungpandang (now MAKASSAR ) until now.

I received the M.S.E.E. in 1989 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison WI, USA, and my Ph.D. in 1994 from the same university. Here is the picture of the CAE Building where I used to spend my days and nights doing my work:

I spent almost half of a year in 2012 to visit Tokyo Institute of Technology (TITECH, or nicknamed Tokodai), Japan. The purpose of the 6 (six) month visiting program and all related reports are officially posted here: REPORTS. Here are some pictures (more pictures are available here):

My area of interest in Electrical Engineering is Automatic Control Systems or Control Systems for short, but I have not been involved in any "serious" research activity for a long time (since 1995 I guess....). Well, I do a lot of teaching and curriculum development, though, and I enjoy my life very much.

Our department officially and completely moved to a new engineering campus, 20 km south-east of the previous site, in 2016. This is how the new campus looked like when it was planned to build in 2009:

In the new campus, I continued to serve as the Head of the Control Systems and Instrumentation Laboratory (LSKI). This was my presentation about the LSKI: LSKI Presentation 2020

I also involved in the R&D-based Curriculum Development of the Department's Curriculum 2015 and the following new Curriculum 2020. I helped our Department of Electrical Engineering to get accredited by 3 (three) major institutions: The National Board of Accreditation (BAN-PT), ABET and IABEE. I collected all related documents in ABET Docs and IABEE Docs.

In September 2013, our youngest daughter went to a college in Malang, so now only two of us were left at home, just like in the beginning in 1982, almost 40 years ago.
