When Mr. Sadjad will plan to come to Japan? We need to know his rough schedule to come to Japan. Then, JICE will send an official letter to the professor to ask a cooperation for the acceptance of the fellow. At the same time, we need to send the 'Request Letter for Accepting the Participants of the Short Term Research Program' to the Rector of the Tokyo Institute of Technology. Have you sent the letter already to the Rector? If yes, please send us the copy of the letter by pdf file. To start to ask the university to accept a Researcher, we should prepare an official request letter to the rector of the university. To make us contact with the Professor (Hiroya SEKI), we need his contact information (Postal address, email address, telephone number, etc). Could you kindly let us know? Thank you for your cooperation. best regards yumiko onishi **************************************************** UNHAS-Fellowship Service Consultant Team Overseas Business Department JAPAN INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION CENTER (JICE) **************************************************** Terima kasih atas bantuannya. In Japan, we have basically four ranks at university; Professor (kyojyu in Japanese) Associate Professor (jyun-kyojyu) Assistant Professor (jyokyo) Lecturer (koshi) According your explanation and the Japanese academic titles, i would like to use 'Associate Professor' for your title during your research program in Japan.. I hope that you could accept this conclusion. Thank you for your kind understanding. We look forward to meeting you in April or May. best regards yumiko onsihi **************************************************** UNHAS-Fellowship Service Consultant Team Overseas Business Department JAPAN INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION CENTER (JICE) Nishishinjuku KF Bldg., 2nd Floor 8-14-24 Nishi-shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo 160-0023 JAPAN Tel: +81-(0)3-5925-7183 Fax: +81-(0)3-5925-7540 email: unhas-fellowship@jice.org **************************************************** 送信元: rhiza@unhas.ac.id 宛先: Ratna Sari Cc: 日付: 2012/03/14 18:38 件名: Re: Fw: Re: Document for Short Term Research (Mr. Rhiza S. In most countries, they only have three levels of academic ranks, i.e. Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and (Full) Professor. In Indonesia we have four levels: Assisten Ahli, Lektor, Lektor Kepala and Professor. The literal translation of those ranks are Senior Assistant, Lecturer, Senior Lecturer and Professor respectively. My rank is Lektor Kepala, which literally means Senior Lecturer in English, but it is probably equivalent to Associate Professor in most countries' academic systems. Hence, sometimes I called myself a Senior Lecturer, and some other times people called me an Associate Professor. Thank you very much for clarifying this matter. Best Regards, Rhiza S.
