FL 110 Framework Experimental System Show data sheet (pdf file)
Technical Description
This demonstration system permits the construction of any number of planar trusses. The bearings and loading mechanisms are mounted on a stable aluminium sectional frame with back plate and anchoring grooves. The steel frame members are interconnected with flexible snap connections and special joint discs. The lengths are graduated in order to achieve common angles. The horizontal layout, with parking blocks under the joints, minimises the effects of dead weight. Ring dynamometers with mechanical dial gauges record the reaction forces. Each bar has a strain gauge to measure the force. The multi-channel measuring amplifier FL 151 and the PC-aided data acquisition software FL 110.11 are required for evaluation purposes. All single parts are supplied on stackable tablets.
Learning Objectives / Experiments
The following experiments are prepared :
Bridge girder according to HOWE
Main framework truss according to HOWE under dead weight and wind pressure load
Main framework truss according to POLONCEAU

The universality of the system makes it possible to show almost any planar truss. There are therefore no restrictions on the design of additional experiments.
Features
Layout of any number of planar trusses possible
Experimental set-up via snap connections, no tools required
Force measurement with strain gauge at each bar
Flat layout eliminates effect of dead weight
