EM 041 Work done by a Variable Force, Tangential Effort Show data sheet (pdf file)
Technical Description
Using this table unit, the work to applied to lift a given load using varying force is determined. The unit consists of a strong rear wall fitted with an axle on which a lever is mounted on almost friction-free bearings. A weight can be hung on the lever. A spring balance fitted at right angles to the lever indicates the tensile force for the stroke, the deflection of the lever can be determined using an angle measuring scale. The unit is suitable both for student experiments in the laboratory and for demonstrations.
