WP 121 Euler Strut Theory Demonstration Unit Show data sheet (pdf file)
Technical Description
In many areas of engineering, buckling plays a significant role in stability. Using this simple unit, various buckling problems can be clearly demonstrated. The unit comprises a frame and four vertically positioned buckling bars. To make the buckling action clearly visible, a white rear wall with a printed grid is fitted immediately behind the bars. The top bearings for the buckling bars can be slid vertically and permit all Euler buckling cases to be covered. The bars have a receptacle for fitting weights. The buckling bars themselves are made of corrosion resistant cold hammered steel. The unit can be used for demonstrations and in the laboratory.
