EM 026 Linear Motion Apparatus Show data sheet (pdf file)
Technical Description
This unit is ideally suited to the demonstration and investigation of linear motion. It consists of a 2m long straight surface that is converted into an inclined plane using a stand available as an accessory. A rolling carriage, a plunger carriage with magnetic clamps and helical springs, and also a friction block can be used on the surface. The bodies can be driven using sets of weights on cords. In this way experiments on linear acceleration, impact and momentum, and on static and sliding friction can be performed. Helical springs enable a spring mass system to be constructed for the investigation of oscillations. For taking measurements, the EM 022 Digital Photogate Timer with photoelectric switches is recommended as an accessory.
