Technical Description
The HM 500.01 accessory is a variable-area flowmeter, i.e. the medium flowing through the unit, in this case water, comes into contact with a body that experiences a force due to its drag. This force works in the opposite direction to the weight of the float. As a result the body is lifted and "floats" to a specific position in a slightly conical glass tube as a function of the flow rate present in the pipe. The pipe has a scale so that the flow rate present in the system can be read off.
