SE 110.28 Experimental Set Simple Suspension Bridge Show data sheet (pdf file)
Technical Description
The set is an accessory for the SE 110/SE 111 universal test frames. Using this set, the behaviour of a suspension bridge as often seen in real life can be demonstrated. Tie rods are hung from a double supporting cable, the length of the rods varies such that the cable is hung in a parabola shape. To be able to use two different sizes, the experiment includes two pairs of supporting cables of different length and two sets of tie rods. The suspended two section roadway is equipped with a hinge in the middle so that the bending moment in the roadway can be seen. The roadway can be loaded using various weights. The forces in the supporting cables can be determined using sets of weights.
