SE 110.13 Experimental Set Strut Buckling Show data sheet (pdf file)
Technical Description
This set is used in conjunction with the SE 110/SE 111 universal test frames to investigate the buckling behaviour of thin struts. The strut, mounted on knife-edge bearings and easily interchangeable, is loaded longitudinally with weights using a lever mechanism. A pressure pad, mounted on a low-friction spherical coupling transmits the load to the strut. The load can be continuously adjusted and precisely read on a high accuracy scale. The experiment permits the use of the bearing types "articulated-articulated", "clamped-articulated" and "elastically clamped-articulated". An additional device is used to generate shear forces. The set includes all the necessary parts.
Learning Objectives / Experiments
