SE 110.16 Experimental Set Parabolic Arch Show data sheet (pdf file)
Technical Description
This supplementary set for the SE 110/SE 111 universal test frames facilitates the experimental investigation of a loaded, parabolic arch as found on vaults, bridges, supports etc. Tie-rod weights are hung on the preformed steel arch. An evenly distributed load is simulated by the equidistant spacing of the loads. The dimensions of the arch result in a bearing angle of 45°. For this reason the horizontal and vertical reaction forces generated are of the same magnitude. These forces are balanced using sets of weights on cords and thus known. Deformation is measured with position measurement gauges. The set contains all the parts necessary for the experiment.
