HM 160.38 Underwater Weir Show data sheet (pdf file)
Technical Description
The underwater weir is a fixed weir. Those weirs on which the down-stream level is above the crest of the weir are termed underwater weirs. The weir body is made of plastic and is fixed to the base of the flume with a bolt. In practice, underwater weirs are used as so-called submerged dikes.
Learning Objectives / Experiments
In conjunction with the HM 160, the following experiments are possible:
· Investigation of the flow over an underwater weir

For the exact measurement of water levels, the HM 160.52 Level Gauge is recommended.
