HM 162.45 Culvert Fittings Show data sheet (pdf file)
Technical Description
The HM 162.45 Culvert Fittings are intended for installation in the HM 162 Modular Flow Channel. The fittings consist of a PVC body that is equipped with 2 different pipe cross-sections. The cross-sections are semicircular and rectangular in shape. To make the channel body easy to handle on installation, the body is hollow. Due to its size, the body must be slid into the channel from the feed side. The body is attached to the base of the channel using bolts. Tubular seals inserted in the slots provided complete the experimental arrangement. During the experiments, operation is possible with full flow through the cross-section (pipe flow) and partial flow through the cross-section.
Learning Objectives / Experiments
The accessory enables comprehensive experiments on hydraulic and hydrodynamic processes on the entry of water into drain pipes or flumes to be performed:
· Inlet losses in a pipe or bottom outlet
· Cross-section restrictions in open flumes
· Break away processes on a sharp-edged inlet
· Hydraulically good drain cross-sections
· Outlet losses on outlet into air and under water
