Technical Description
Self-priming pumps can start even if there is no column of liquid in the intake pipe. The air drawn in is expelled via a bleed pipe. The pump is fitted to a base plate ready for installation. This is simply slid into the HM 365.10 Basic Module Water Pumps and fixed in place. The unit is equipped with electronic sensors for recording intake and delivery pressure. After filling with water, the pump is connected to the experimental set-up using flexible hoses. To be able to interchange the pump easily and straightforwardly, the hoses are equipped with rapid action couplings. The motor necessary for drive is fitted to the HM 365 Universal Drive and Brake Unit.

Together with the HM 365 Universal Drive and Brake Unit and the HM 365.10 Basic Module Water Pumps, the following experiments are possible:
· Recording of pump curves
· Determination of the power requirement of the pump
· Determination of the hydraulic power output of the pump
· Determination of the pump efficiency
· Determination of the system characteristic and operating point of the pump
· Checking of the necessary NPSH value of the pump
