Technical Description
This table unit covers a wide range experiments on bending and torsion. Two bearings can be slid along the steel base section as required and attached to it via threaded holes. The bearing arrangement provides different ways of clamping the ends of the bar. This allows different bearing conditions to be demonstrated. The amount of deformation is determined using a position measurement gauge. This is equipped with a magnetic base and can be attached at any point along the base frame. Two drill chucks retain the test bars securely for torsion experiments. Clamping lengths of up to 600mm are possible. A weight set of up to 20N is used to apply loads. The torsion moment is applied with a lever mounted in ball bearings.
