Technical Description
The FL 090 benchtop unit provides an introduction to the techniques of resistance measurement using a strain gauge. Strain gauges are used to measure tension and torsion loads. Basic functions, such as temperature influence, zero point compensation and strain gauge applications are easy to demonstrate. In the basic design of the FL 090 a steel bar is used. It is clamped and a load applied with weights. Strain gauges are fitted to the bar and connected in a full bridge. The magnitude of the imbalance in the bridge corresponds to the mechanical stress in the material under load. Accessories allow various tensile tests and a torque test. The system is suitable for practical experiments in small groups and for demonstration purposes in presentations.
