The model allows the friction coefficients of different friction belts to be determined. The influence of the angle of contact on the necessary driving force can also be investigated. A ball bearing-mounted cable pulley is slotted to allow for the fitting of round, flat and V-belts. Different friction belts are placed around the pulley at angles of contact from 0° to 180° and a defined load applied to them using weights. The relative motion of the pulley is generated by another set of weights. The model is intended for wall mounting. Alternatively, it can be attached to the TM 090 mounting frame. The well-structured instructional material outlines the technological fundamentals and provides a step-by-step guide through the experiments. |
