TM 260.06 Experimental Module Journal Bearing Pressure Distribution Show data sheet (pdf file) Print page
Technical Description
The unit enables the pressure distribution in a plain bearing with hydrodynamic lubrication to be displayed. The unit is intended for use with the TM 260 Basic Module. 13 measuring points that open out into measuring tubes are distributed around the periphery of the bearing shell. The pressure profile is indicated by the different heights reached by the lubricant in the tubes. Due to the radially adjustable bearing housing, the width of the gap can be adjusted in 1/100mm steps using a micrometer.
Learning Objectives / Experiments
· Pressure distribution in a plain bearing as a function of the speed
· Pressure distribution in a plain bearing as a function of load and width of the bearing gap
· Stability limit as a function of the width of the gap
Features
