Technical Description
Using this type of pump it is possible to pump water to a higher level without additional mechanical energy. During this process the kinetic energy of the water flowing in a long pipe is converted into potential energy by suddenly stopping the flow. A valve pulsed by the hydraulic force of the water makes the hydraulic ram cycle automatically. The function of the hydraulic ram can be clearly seen with unshrouded valves and transparent cylinders. The water hammer develops in a pipe loop. All components are mounted on a clearly laid out panel. The flow rate is adjusted using manual valves. The water supply is provided either from the laboratory mains or using the HM 150 (closed water circuit).
