EM 023 Free Fall Adapter Show data sheet (pdf file) Print page
Technical Description
This table-top experiment is used to measure the fall times of a steel ball from various heights. It is used with the EM 022 Digital Photogate Timer. On the reception of a signal, an electromagnet releases the ball; this signal also starts the timer. On the impact of the ball on the receiver module, a signal pulse is generated that then stops the timer. Varying fall heights can be set using a clamp on the stand; this feature permits the laws of free fall to be comprehensively investigated.
