Technical Description
This large test device is used for bending, loading and compression experiments on girders, bars, trusses and other components from the area of steel construction and civil engineering. It is specially designed to make it possible to perform experiments on large design elements in 1:1 scale. The device consists of two support frames and two load frames that are anchored to the floor of the laboratory using threaded studs. Due the open at the front and rear design, it is possible to test specimens of almost any length. The frame design withstands a central load of up to 400kN. The test forces in the load frames are generated using two hydraulic cylinders. The necessary hydraulic pressure is provided by a hand operated hydraulic unit. This has two pump stages, in case of a requirement for high force, the unit automatically switches between the two stages. The possible uses for the device are almost unlimited. The design of the frame facilitates the rapid, uncomplicated set up of numerous experiments. Test objects are not included. Data acquisition software is available as an accessory.
