Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) held a Coordination Meeting to Evaluate the Achievement of Performance Targets for the First Quarter of 2025 on Friday (2/5) at the LPPM Unhas Hall. The meeting served as a moment to review progress on key performance indicators and to strengthen synergy among university units in accelerating institutional transformation toward becoming a world-class university.
The meeting was chaired by the Rector of UNHAS, Prof. Jamaluddin Jompa, commonly referred to as Prof. JJ. Also in attendance were members of the university leadership, including, Prof. Muhammad Ruslin (Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs), Prof. Subehan ( Vice Rector for Planning, Development, and Finance), Prof. Adi Maulana (Vice Rector for Partnership, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Business), and Prof. Sumbangan Baja (University Secretary).
During the meeting, a recapitulation of performance achievements from 17 faculties and work units was presented, reflecting the consolidation of academic performance, research, community service, and institutional governance during the first quarter.
In response to the evaluation results, the Rector of UNHAS emphasised the importance of enhancing the quality of scientific publications across all disciplines, particularly within the social sciences, as a key component of the university’s strategic performance indicators.
“We need to strengthen our approach and strategy for increasing publications, especially in the social sciences and humanities. This will significantly impact our position in international rankings,” said Prof. JJ.
The Rector also highlighted the development of double degree programs as one of the main indicators of UNHAS’ academic transformation, aligned with its internationalisation efforts.
“Double degree programs must continue to be developed seriously as a concrete step toward becoming a world-class university. This is not just about collaboration, but a tangible form of strengthening academic capacity across countries,” emphasised Prof. JJ.
This meeting served as an early-year reflection space as well as a spark of enthusiasm for all work units within Unhas to become more adaptive, progressive, and focused on achieving the university’s 2025 strategic targets.
