In commemoration of the 60th Dies Natalis, Unhas chose the theme of “Strengthening People-Based Economics Towards a Better Indonesia.” Therefore, stated the Head Committee of the 60th Dies Natalis Unhas, Prof. Dr. Gagaring Pagalung, M.Si.Ak during his ceremonial report of the Indonesia’s 71st anniversary, that numerous events would be conducted in celebrating the Dies Natalis this year.
National and International seminars take place in several faculties, besides the routinely held sports competition as a form of recreation and entertainment. The several fields of competitions include football, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, futsal, and gymnastics. The competitions are planned to be held on 22-31 August 2016.
Gagaring Pagalung also reported that this year, a visit to Sultan Hasanuddin tomb would be held, as a form of commemoration towards the late Sultan Hasanuddin that’s name is immortalized in the University name.
Unhas besides that plans in holding a social service program in the Sidrap Regency, and small islands around Makassar, the launch of the 60 years Unhas postal stamp, Dies Natalis commemoration ceremony, and a Unhas National Alumni Gathering (TNA).
