The new program inaugurated in Unhas, the International class for two faculties that include the Faculty of Economics and Business and Public Health, are confident to operate well.
“With only five students for each study programs, we will still be operational,” stated the Vice Rector I Prof. Dr. Junaidi during the Coordination Meeting taking place in the Studies and Educational Institution (LKPP) Hall Unhas, that was attended by the Unhas Rector Prof. Dr. Dwia Aries Tina Pulubuhu, M.A., Tuesday (2/8). The Vice Rectors of Unhas, the Deans and Vice Deans of Unhas faculties, as well as Directors of institutions also attended the meeting.
Prof. Junaidi specified that the number of registrants for the Management Study Program consisted of 25 individuals, followed by 14 in Public Health, 11 in Accounting, and 8 in Economics Studies. The registration for new students of the International Class is closed on 16 August 2016.
81 Papers Evaluated
Until the Coordination Meeting of the 2nd of August 2016, Field 1 evaluated 81 papers that were presented by lecturers both in and out of the state. Out of the 81 scientific papers, 21 among them presented in Europe, 26 Asia, 2 America, 3 Canada, 1 Saudi Arabia, and 27 domestically in Indonesia.
“Those that have been financed include 52 scientific papers, therefore for International seminars, 59% have been allocated,” stated the Vice Rector I Prof. Junaidi during the meeting.
During the opportunity, Junaidi further reported that during the semesters of 2016/2017, Unhas will receive students from Papua and Frontal, Rural, and Left Behind areas (3T). Unhas has 24 positions, but one obtained a scholarship overseas.
Resolve of the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Higher Education
Vice Rector II Prof. Dr. Syamsul Bachri, S.H., M.H. reported, until 31 July 2016, the budgets of Unhas absorbed accumulated to 41,63%. Such figures exceed the resolve of the Ministry of Research, Innovation, and Higher Education that is 33%.
Unhas with its Autonomous Status would receive 25% of the total allocated University funds for research. The allocations are hoped to provide promising news for lecturers of Unhas that aimed for 120 International publications.
Syamsul Bachri also explained, the total amount of lecturers with a Doctoral Degree is now 898 people, while 1.341 of the lecturers have been certified.
Parents Permission
Vice Rector III Unhas Dr. Ir. Abd. Rasyid J. stated the plans for the newly enrolled student's admittance (PMB) event in Unhas. But he hopes that the Deans of Faculties can help contribute to the process of receiving new students with humanitarian and democratic principles.
Rasyid further explains that the event of student bodies will be conducted in November 2016 until January 2017.
“The events related to student organizations must obtain the permission from parents of the students,” stated Cido, a familiar nickname for Abd. Rasyid.
The conduct of PMB started on 15 August 2016 in an Academic Senate Open Meeting Unhas in Baruga Andi Pangerang Petta Rani Tamalanrea Campus. The next day (16/8) the event directly was held in the faculty, commemoration of the Indonesian Independence day (17/8), acceptance by study program departments (18/8), Student Executive Body (BEM) (19/8), and Unhas Day (20/8)
Next Year IKP
After the Faculty of Economics and Business, and the Faculty of Public Health, next year the Faculty of Marine Sciences and Fisheries will open their International Class.
“Next year IKP will also open their International Class,” stated Vice Rector IV Unhas Prof. dr. Budu, Sp.M(K), Ph.D., during the Coordination Meeting Unhas.
Budu explained that the World Class University is granted IDR 5 Billion from the Ministry of Research, Innovation, and Higher Education Institution. The series of WCU events have run since May 2016.
Until now 46 proposals of WCU program supports have been submitted, with 26 among them passing. In 2017, stated Budu, Unhas also received additional funding for the WCU program.
OTK and UPT Established
Organizational Working Procedure (OTK) and the Technical Conduct Unit (UPT) have now been set. University Secretary of Unhas, Dr. Ir. Nasaruddin Salam, M.T. stated, that to complete the OTK and UPT structures, there will be a series of mutations and inductees by 5 August 2016.
Nasaruddin also explained that in regards to the acceptance of educators to continue their Masters in Japan. Now we have 15 registrants, among them are non-staff civil servants. Unhas will choose six among them to be sent to continue their studies.
During the opportunity, Director of Technology and Information, Dr. M. Niswar also reported that a number of lecturers that the remunerations and lecture workloads (BKD) that have been verified amounts to 70,5%, meanwhile 29,5% still under process.
“But the verifiers in faculties are continuously working. This is dynamic and real-time based,” stated Nizwar.
Approximately 60% of lecturers did not reach the score of 40.
