UNIVERSITAS HASANUDDIN

Unhas Ranked 8th, Increased by 3 Ranks

Following the commemoration of the 71st Indonesian Independence, warming news emerged for Universitas Hasanuddin. Unhas ranks rose to the 8th position, as stated during a press conference explained by the Minister of Research, Innovation and Higher Education (Ristekdikti) M. Nasir, Jakarta, Wednesday (17/8).

Unhas that previously was positioned in the 11th, eventually advanced to the 8th position, surpassing Universitas Diponegoro and Universitas Padjajaran. The rise in of the Unhas ranks is known to be of high significance, considering that the position would require the University to overlap reputable universities of Java, including Undip, and Unpad.

“I would not talk much on this matter, I would just like to echo the fact that the higher education institution ranks compared between 2016 and 2015 reflects a significant change. The majority of universities would increase their ranks by 1 position, but what makes things distinctive is the scores,” stated the Minister of Research, Innovation, and Higher Education M. Nasir during a press conference in his office, located at Jl. MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (17/8/2016).

Nasir added that the 2016 university ranks have not significantly changed compared to last year based on several indicators: Lecturers (12%), Quality of Lecturers (18%), Accreditation (30%), Quality of Student Activities (10%), and Quality of Research Conducts (30%).
