Wantimpres (President Advisory Council), 20 September 2016, met with ten high education institutions granted with the Autonomous Status (PTN BH) in the President Advisory Council Jakarta. The ten universities were UI, IPB, ITB, Unhas, Unair, Undip, Unpad, USU and Unand Padang.
“Wantimpres demanded higher education institutions to take a direct role in the prosperity systems, through small and medium business programs (UKM),” stated Unhas Rector Prof. Dr. Dwia Aries Tina Pulubuhu, M.A. in her office, Friday (23/9/2016).
Unhas during the opportunity recommended the higher education institutions to take a role through skill managements, and business managements correlated with centers of development that Unhas has constructed for a while. Also discussed were skill up products, meanwhile for Unhas, Wantimpres hoped that the institution can decrease the poverty gap.
ITB stated how they would be able to contribute towards the assembling of industrial and technological commodities. The only obstacle being, the links between technology and industries in Indonesia is still known not to be of ease.
Meanwhile, Unpad stated that based on the state law aspect, it still seizes to be complete and in need to be simplified. A crucial result of the matter is that government management is known to be slow.
“Unpad addressed health concerns,” stated Dwia. She further elaborated that the ten rectors are demanded to constantly be active in providing the Government with inputs, through the Wantimpres.
