Hasanuddin University, through the Faculty of Law, held a Public Lecture and Dialogue with the Academic Civitas by presenting a resource person, Member of the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres) of the Republic of Indonesia, H Muhammad Mardiono. The activity with the theme “Synergy between Government and Universities in Printing a Superior Generation in the Digital Era” took place at Baruga Prof. Baharuddin Lopa, Faculty of Law Unhas, Tamalanrea Campus, Makassar, Monday (03/10).
Starting the activity, the Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs (Prof. drg. Muhammad Ruslin, M.Kes., Sp.BM(K), in his speech said that collaboration between the government and universities has a very important role in preparing and producing human resources. to be able to develop and move forward in providing benefits to the community.
Prof. drg. Muhammad Ruslin said, “We certainly hope that together with the younger generation we can do many good things by building and expanding relationships to strengthen professional relationships and communication for the development of their careers, in line with digital advances that are getting better all the time.”
In his presentation, H. Muhammad Mardiono, Member of the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres) of the Republic of Indonesia, said that Indonesian citizens have democratic rights, namely participation in political democracy and economic democracy. Its goal is to give everyone a lot of room to face challenges and take advantage of opportunities so that they can do well in society.
Every Indonesian citizen is given a wider creative and innovative open space in creating job opportunities through the business world. “The government certainly cannot provide job opportunities for all Indonesian people, so that apart from recruiting through ASN recruitment, other prospective workers are also absorbed by the private sector and business actors or entrepreneurs,” H. Muhammad Mardiono.
Furthermore, it was explained that in following technological developments in the digital era, people are required to adapt to present opportunities and future work processes with their personal abilities and skills in order to master the development of the world of work for future career advancement.
Also, the Wantimpres RI H Muhammad Mardiono gives direction and inspiration to the academic community at Unhas, especially to students who want to use their rights and do their duties as good Indonesian citizens by going to school and becoming future leaders of the country.
After the presentation of the material, the activity then continued with a discussion session and questions and answers from the participants. The activity was attended by approximately 300 participants, who are law students, and it lasted smoothly until 11.00 WITA. (*/dhs)
