About the Program
The Tourism Destination Study Program is an applied bachelor's education program offered at the Vocational Faculty of Hasanuddin University. It implements a vocational education curriculum aimed at producing professional graduates in the field of tourism destination planning and management.
Strengths
The Tourism Destination Study Program has received "good" accreditation from BAN-PT based on Decree No. 2525/SK/BAN-PT/Ak.P./STr/VI/2023. Supported by competent teaching staff, domestic and foreign graduates, practitioners from the business and industrial worlds, as well as field laboratories in the form of the Teaching Factory at Passi Gusung Eko Tourism and Tama Melong in the Selayar Islands.
Areas of Specialization
In the Tourism Destination Study Program, there are specializations in marine tourism, cultural tourism, geopark tourism, digital tourism, and sustainable tourism.
Learning Process
While studying at the Tourism Destination Study Program, students, apart from learning tourism theory in the classroom and through e-learning, also gain project-based learning experience in field practice carried out at the Teaching Factory because they are immediately given the challenge of managing and developing the Teaching Factory as a tourist destination. Apart from that, learning activities at industrial internship locations and implementing case study learning provide cross-cultural experiences that are certainly interesting for students.
Career Prospects
Graduates of the Applied Undergraduate Study Program in Tourism Destinations, Vocational Faculty, Hasanuddin University, can have a career as tourism planners in central government agencies, such as the Ministry of Tourism, local governments, namely in the Tourism Office, in the tour and travel industry, as tourist attraction managers, or as entrepreneurs who develop and manage destinations tours.
