
On 13-14 November 2025, four lecturers from the Department of History, Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB), Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) took part in the SEASREP 30th Anniversary Conference titled “Southeast Asian Studies: Ideas, Audiences, Approaches, and Aspirations (SEAS-IA3)”, held at the Institute of East Asian Studies, Thammasat University, Thailand. Their active involvement reflects a continuous effort to broaden international academic networks and enhance scholarly capacity.
The conference brought leading researchers and academics from across Southeast Asia into one forum, providing a valuable opportunity to exchange insights, present innovative research, and explore future directions in the field of Southeast Asian studies. Throughout the discussions, participants emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and international partnership as key drivers in advancing regional knowledge and sustainable academic development.
The Department of History representatives included Dr. Muslimin A.R. Effendy, M.Hum., Dr. Ilham, S.S., M.Hum., Dr. Ida Liana Tanjung, M.Hum., and Drs. Dias Pradadimara, M.S. Their presence at this international event is expected to contribute to strengthening the department’s global academic visibility, support knowledge transfer, and enhance research and teaching quality at UNHAS.
The Department of History extends its appreciation to the participating lecturers for their dedication and for successfully representing the university on the international stage. It is hoped that the experience and connections gained from this conference will bring positive impact to institutional development and future scholarly endeavors.
