On Friday, 19 September 2025, the Mandarin Language and Chinese Culture Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB), Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), held a send-off ceremony for 13 students from the 2023 cohort departing for China to participate in the 2+2 joint degree program between UNHAS and Nanchang University.
The event was officially opened by Dr. Ansariadi (Director of Partnership) and attended by Dr. Februadi Bastian (Head of Subdirectorate of International Class Management), Muhammad Ridwan, M.A. (International Office Secretary), Dian Waru Ungas, M.A. (Head of UNHAS Mandarin Study Program), the person in charge of the Confucius Institute, the CEO of PT. NISCO Morowali, as well as lecturers from the Mandarin Language and Chinese Culture Program and the Faculty of Cultural Sciences.
The 13 students successfully passed a rigorous selection process, requiring them to achieve a minimum of Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Kǎoshì (HSK) or 汉语水平考试 Level 4 proficiency in Mandarin and maintain a minimum grade of “B” across their first four semesters. Through this achievement, they earned scholarships to continue their undergraduate studies for two years at Nanchang University. Upon completing their studies, thesis, and graduation at Nanchang University, the students will return to UNHAS to complete their final graduation ceremony. Through this 2+2 program, they will receive dual undergraduate degrees—one from Nanchang University and one from UNHAS.
