Two lecturers from Hanze University of Applied Science, Groningen, The Netherlands, Ms. Sanne Heinen, M.Sc., R.N and Hinke Van Der Werf, Ph.D.,R.N visited the Faculty of Nursing (FKep) at Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) for a three-day program on 15-17 September 2025, aimed at strengthening academic and clinical collaboration. The visit began with a warm welcome from the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Prof. Dr.Ariyanti Saleh, S.Kp.,M.Si and and all Vice Deans of Faculty of Nursing, Syahrul, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes., Ph.D.; Dr. Erfina, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep.; and Dr. Takdir Tahir, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes. The event also introduced three new Hanze University students who will undertake internships at local hospitals and community health centers in Makassar.

The welcoming ceremony was attended by faculty members, lecturers, and clinical preceptors, marking the beginning of a series of academic activities. During their visit, Ms. Heinen and Dr. Van Der Werf delivered guest lectures to nursing students in third and fifth semesters. Ms. Heinen addressed the important topic of Aggression in Mental Healthcare, while Dr. Van Der Werf spoke on Planetary Health, highlighting the impact of environmental factors on human well-being. In addition to academic sessions, the faculty arranged student evaluations to identify areas for improvement in the upcoming internship programs. Discussions also explored opportunities for further research collaborations and outbound student exchange programs between UNHAS and Hanze University in 2026.
The lecturers and students, accompanied by an internationalisation team from Hanze University, also visited Wahidin Sudirohusodo Hospital (RSWS) and UNHAS’s teaching hospital. There, they engaged with clinical preceptors and visited the facilities where students will be completing their internships. The visit highlights the strong partnership between the two institutions that has been long established. Both expressed optimism about continuing and expanding their collaboration in the future.
