The Faculty of Nursing (FKep), Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), had the honor of welcoming Professor Yoko Aihara from the Faculty of Health Sciences, Okayama University, Japan, as part of the ongoing academic collaboration between the two institutions on 20-25 October 2025.

Professor Aihara was warmly welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Prof. Dr. Elly L. Sjattar, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes, along with the Vice Deans of the Faculty of Nursing UNHAS: Syahrul, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes., Ph.D.; Dr. Erfina, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep.; and Dr. Takdir Tahir, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes. Also present was the Faculty’s Internationalization Team, led by Nur Fadilah, S.Kep., Ns., MN.
During her visit, Prof. Aihara discussed the evaluation of the current inbound program, which involves two students from Okayama University, as well as plans for future collaboration between the two faculties. The discussions focused on expanding both inbound and outbound student exchange programs and strengthening joint research collaborations.
As part of her academic engagement, Prof. Aihara delivered a guest lecture on the topic “Health Promotion: How Do We Promote Health Behaviours”, which was attended by faculty members and students. In addition to academic activities, Prof. Aihara visited several facilities, including UNHAS Teaching Hospital, the Griya Afiat Wound Clinic, and 12 Junior High School, where she observed the ongoing School Free Lunch Program.
The visit concluded with a mutual agreement between the Faculty of Nursing, UNHAS, and the Faculty of Health Sciences, Okayama University, to receive more students for internship and research programs in March 2026. This visit marks another significant milestone in strengthening the partnership between UNHAS and Okayama University, further fostering global collaboration in nursing education and research.
