The International Office (IO) of Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), in collaboration with EducationUSA (EdUSA), successfully held an information session titled “Discovering the Midwest: Your Gateway to U.S. Education” on Thursday, 9 October 2025, at the Senate Room, 2nd Floor of the Rectorate Building. The session aimed to provide UNHAS students with valuable insights into studying in the United States, particularly in the Midwest region.
The event began with opening remarks by Dr. Andi Masyitha Irwan, Head of IO, who emphasized the importance of global exposure and the IO’s commitment to supporting UNHAS students in accessing international education opportunities. The session was moderated by Dr. Khaeruddin, IO Task Force for Mobility Programs, who guided the discussion and engaged the audience throughout the session.
Two speakers were featured during the event: Fadhil Hidayat, EducationUSA Advisor, and Patrick Parnell, Director of International Services at Missouri State University (MSU). Mr. Parnell introduced MSU, represented by its bear mascot, and presented a range of topics, including study programs, English proficiency requirements, on-campus housing, and student life for international students. His presentation captivated the audience, prompting an active question-and-answer session.
The event concluded with a lively photo session and the presentation of a token of appreciation, marking another meaningful step in strengthening UNHAS’s commitment to fostering international collaboration and providing its students with pathways toward global education opportunities.
