The Faculty of Medicine (FK), Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), once again demonstrated its presence on the international stage. One of its professors, Prof. Dr. dr. Rina Masadah, Sp.PA(K)., M.Phil., DFM, who currently serves as the Vice Dean for Publication, Community Service, and International Affairs, participated in the 15th International Conference on Cancer in Africa, held from 1-6 November 2025, in Hammamet, Tunisia.
On this occasion, Prof. Rina Masadah presented her research titled “MUC5AC Protein Expression as a Potential Prediction of Metastasis in Mucinous Ovarian Carcinoma: Unveiling a New Biomarker in a Rare Cancer Subtype.” The study highlights an important topic on the potential of a new biomarker for detecting metastasis in the rare subtype of mucinous ovarian carcinoma, which is expected to contribute to the advancement of diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for cancer in the future.
In addition, Prof. Rina Masadah also presented another paper titled “Home-Based Palliative Care Training for Cancer Patient’s Caregiver.” This research emphasizes the importance of home-based palliative care training for cancer caregivers to enhance patients’ quality of life and promote a more humane and sustainable care system.
Prof. Rina Masadah’s participation in this international oncology conference reflects the commitment of the FK UNHAS to strengthening its academic contributions in global health while enhancing the university’s recognition and reputation at the international level.
