Iksan Bagsawan is an alumnus of the Civil Engineering Department of Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas). He currently works as a Digital Creator, as well as the Founder and CEO of SKENA. He began interested in graphic design in 2018. Since then, he has been seriously involved in the digital world and earned money from his work. Eventually, his determination in the Creative Digital Industry has brought success in his life.
SKENA is a Digital Creative Marketing Agency formed by a team of individuals based in Jakarta and Makassar. SKENA aims to help people in business sell their products more effortless and less tedious by creating digital service marketing. The competitive advantage of SKENA is a team of highly experienced and professional marketers, designers, officers, and specialists. SKENA supports the achievement of branding and the implementation of a comprehensive marketing strategy for customers.
Before establishing SKENA, Iksan first found CROVIA, a creative studio in Makassar, in 2015. However, CROVIA closed down five years later, in 2019. In the same year, Iksan tried his luck and had time to work freelance in Jakarta. Finally, in 2020, SKENA was founded by a group of people who have similar interests.
“The name of SKENA itself is taken from an English word ‘scene’, which means the place where an incident in real life or fiction occurs or occurred. We hope SKENA can be a place to realize creative ideas and provide digital creative solutions to various client problems. We build a playful working environment. The playful environment in the sense that we play with creativity in working,” explained Iksan as quoted from Action Magazine Unhas.
Iksan, with his many experiences, dramatically influences the development of SKENA, a digital creative platform. Iksan said that he had been actively engaging the blogger community called Komunitas Blogger Pelajar Indonesia (KBPI) since 2010. Since then, he has learned to design community t-shirts.
“I could say that blogging and graphic design go hand in hand. Moreover, I love to spend time on the internet. I like to find out things, and that is where narcissism begins. At that time, I was thinking how about typing my name and appearing on the internet, starting to find out, and finally understanding that if you have to have a blog, you must have your website,” said Iksan.
Iksan sees that there are opportunities in the creative industry that is growing among millennials. He said that the industry is very unpredictable, including various new job opportunities today. Iksan is very grateful to employ many people and help the government overcome the unemployment issue in Indonesia. Moreover, SKENA can collaborate with local brands and state-owned enterprises.
“for beginners, do not be complacent. If you can do it today, someone else can do it better than you the next day. Do not let digital run fast while you are just standing still. Follow the development, do not be complacent, and do not stay in the comfort zone,” said Iksan
