The Public Health Science Doctoral Study Program (PSD-IKM) at Hasanuddin
University is one of the 5 (five) Study Programs at the Faculty of Public Health at
Hasanuddin University. The implementation of this study program is in
accordance with the Decree of the Secretary General of the Minister of Research,
Technology and Higher Education No. 151/KPT/1/2015 dated 4 December 2015
concerning Implementation of the Public Health Doctoral Program at Hasanuddin
University Makassar. The formulation of PSD-IKM's vision is "To become a
Center for the Development of Science and Technology for Public Health that is
research-based and capable of competing globally for the benefit of the
Indonesian Maritime Continent by 2025". As an effort to realize the vision, the
mission of PSD-IKM Unhas for 2016-2025 was formulated as follows;
The objectives of PSD-IKM are formulated in accordance with the mission which
describes the needs and standards of expected doctoral competency in the field of
public health science. The expected competency standards for doctoral graduates
are outlined in 4 objectives, namely;
PSD IKM alumni have a great opportunity to have a good career path and occupy
various strategic positions in fields related to education, research and research-
based service in the government and private sectors. PSD IKM alumni have a
great opportunity to be appointed as teaching staff who have career opportunities
to become leaders in educational institutions such as deans, deputy deans and
even university rectors. Career paths in local government, health service
institutions, especially heads, secretaries in health services at provincial and
district/city levels, leaders/managers in government and private hospitals, heads of
health clinics in government institutions, researchers, project managers at NGOs
and consultants. These career opportunities certainly match the profile of PSD
IKM FKM Unhas graduates, namely Researcher, Communicator, Leader,
Manager and Innovator.
In helping to absorb graduates into the world of work, the challenge of the Public
Health Doctoral Study Program (PSD IKM) is to collaborate with various types of
partners. This includes curriculum preparation in terms of content and learning
methods, internships and research. Partners can be multinational companies, high-
standard national companies, world-class non-profit organizations, and national
and international government and private research institutions. This has
implications for the need for a large and diverse network of lecturer partners in
order to bridge study programs with these various partners. Currently, PSD-IKM
is connected with various higher education institutions related to collaboration in
implementing teaching staff education. Through the Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) with the government at both central and regional levels,
various activities related to the tridharma of higher education are carried out. PSD
IKM has a great opportunity to be connected with industry because the curriculum
review has involved stakeholders to meet the demands and needs of stakeholders.
There are even opportunities for collaboration with foreign institutions to develop
unstructured curricula (bench marking, etc.). Apart from that, the teaching staff of
PSD IKM FKM Unhas actively collaborate with various government agencies and
NGOs through research-based education, research and community service
activities. Likewise with the placement of strategic positions and positions by
PSD-IKM students and alumni in various government and private agencies such
as universities, the Ministry of Health, BKKBN, Ministry of Home Affairs,
Ministry of Defense, the industrial world, hospitals, health centers, health services
and NGOs.

The Unhas PSD-IKM curriculum structure has been adapted to the Indonesian
National Qualifications Framework (KKNI). The doctoral program is at level 9.
The educational curriculum structure at PSD-IKM Unhas is designed to support
the achievement of the stated competencies of public health doctoral graduates.
The curriculum at PSD IKM has been prepared, aiming at the vision, mission,
goals and objectives of the study program. Likewise, curriculum reviews are
reviewed periodically, in accordance with developments in new issues in public
health science and community needs. Curriculum review at PSD IKM
continuously involves stakeholders, and follows developments in public health
science at the international level, namely determinants of health and health all
policies as well as culture of health in the fifth wave of public health. For elective
courses, individual/group student expectations/needs have been provided to
support the completion of final assignments/dissertations.
The Public Health Doctoral study program has one concentration, namely Public
Health Sciences. Through this study program students can master philosophy and
theory to build public health concepts in order to achieve key competencies,
produce research by lecturers and students who have an international reputation
involving inter-multi-transdisciplinarity and are responsible for the results of their
research as well as carrying out research-based service activities to solve
problems. public health problems by involving cross-sectors to support the
achievement of SDGs. PSD IKM students can enjoy the facilities prepared such as
basic laboratory space for Public Health including a lab. biomedicine, lab.
epidemiology, lab. kesling, lab. kesker, lab. nutrition, lab. audio visual and lab.
Computer; Research laboratory space is like a lab. entomology (medical faculty);
Center for Scientific Information (PII); Educational administration space, general
and financial administration and student affairs administration; Secretariat room
for student activities (UKM); Classroom/tutorial block equipped with LCD
projector, computer, air conditioning and whiteboard; Seminar and exam rooms,
faculty and specialization leadership rooms and meeting rooms; And; Hotspot
area/wireless, place of worship, parking facilities, bathrooms and reflection
garden. These spaces are very adequate for ongoing academic interaction between
the academic community. FKM also has a reading room, prayer room with
graduate students, parking lot, reflection garden and sports field.
The learning process at PSD IKM applies case study methods and project-based
methods supported by academic interactions that take place in a conducive
manner and support the potential and abilities of PSD IKM students in
contributing to the global development of science by actively participating in
reputable publications and participating in various national seminars and
conferences. and internationally which supports the development of public health
science, such as holding seminars, symposiums, workshops, book reviews and
public lectures from guest lecturers both from within and outside the country so as
to produce adaptive graduate outcomes in the world of work. At PSD IKM there
are opportunities for autonomous curriculum development at the study program
level in accordance with applicable national regulations so that students always
receive updated information. PSD IKM students also have the opportunity to take
part in national and international training/workshops/seminars/conferences to
increase students' capacity to produce internationally reputable research. What is
interesting is that PSD IKM students are actively involved in inter-multi-
transdisciplinary research activities and are responsible for the results of their
research. PSD IKM students have the opportunity to take part in student exchange
programs to support their potential and capacity, are also involved in student
activities in developing soft skills, and play a role in student and community
organizations.

Jalur JNS UTBK adalah salah satu jalur seleksi mandiri yang diselenggarakan oleh Universitas Hasanuddin untuk menjaring calon mahasiswa yang mempunyai prestasi akademik disamping kemampuan finansial. Penilaian terhadap peserta jalur JNS UTBK dilakukan berdasarkan skor nilai UTBK-SNBT dan satu nilai materi ujian yang diselenggarakan oleh Universitas Hasanuddin.

Jalur JNS Non UTBK adalah salah satu jalur seleksi mandiri yang diselenggarakan oleh Universitas Hasanuddin untuk menjaring calon mahasiswa yang mempunyai prestasi akademik disamping kemampuan finansial. Penilaian terhadap peserta jalur JNS Non UTBK dilakukan berdasarkan Nilai Ujian yang diselenggarakan oleh Universitas Hasanuddin (tanpa memperhitungkan Nilai UTBK).
