The Key Speaker at the 2022 Pangkep Politany National Seminar will be the Chancellor of Unhas.

The Chancellor of Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc., was a resource person at the national seminar of the Pangkajene Islands State Agricultural Polytechnic with the theme “Multifunctional Agriculture for Food, Renewable Energy, Water, and Air Security.”

This national conference commemorated the 34th anniversary of Politani Pangkep and served as the yearly agenda. On Thursday, September 29th, the event took place virtually through the Zoom Meeting program and was streamed live on the PolipangkepTV YouTube channel.

Prof. JJ, who is the chancellor of Unhas University, gave a talk called “Towards the Acceleration of Industry 4.0 and Science 45 Vision in Indonesia: Collaboration and Human Resources to Address Indonesian Maritime Challenges in the Anthropocene Era.”

Prof. JJ emphasized that industry 4.0 and society 5.0 are necessary since everything has progressed so rapidly that the so-called “frontiers of science, technology, and innovation” have become the triggers and determinants of competitiveness. so that it will be tough to compete globally with human resources.

“One of the things that is often forgotten is that we are currently facing a very large challenge, namely that humans seem to forget that the Holocene Era is over and that we are now entering the Anthropocene Era, where since 2015 scientists have declared that the world This has changed a lot, especially with the rise in population caused by technology and the speed of development, which throws off the balance of nature, as the author explains.

Moreover, Professor JJ noted that the rapid expansion in the human population and practically all dimensions of the use of energy, as well as the rapid usage of fertilizers, were the result of technical advancements causing several problems to arise on the planet. In order to make the country more competitive in the future, improving the economy and welfare does not have to hurt the environment.

“Because we are part of a global community and a civilized nation, we support the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This is both a difficulty and an opportunity, with one of the challenges being how to generate feed as a source of global nourishment in the face of health issues. By achieving the 17 SDGs, Indonesia, particularly in its eastern region, may play a major role and make a substantial contribution. Prof. JJ said that our shared responsibilities show what we do and how we want to grow.

Prof. JJ recommended that all individuals optimize Indonesia’s natural resources by practicing good and shrewd management and adhering to numerous principles. Farmers in Indonesia should always be encouraged to use the latest technologies to get information and sell their goods.
