Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas) recorded a proud achievement in world rankings. Unhas manage to reach the top board in Indonesia regarding Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE WUR) by Subject.
There are 11 subjects included in THE World University Ranking, Computer Science, Engineering, Clinical and Health, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Psychology, Art and Humanities, Bussiness and Economics, Education, Law, and Social Sciences.
THE World University Ranking has announced six subjects related to science and technology through the official website. Three subjects from Unhas has successfully achieved a worldwide reputation in THE WUR by subject.
(1) Clinical and Health:
There are 6 Indonesian universities on the WUR list. Universitas Hasanuddin reaches the top 5 in Indonesia and is ranked #601+ on the global level.
(2) Life Sciences:
In this subject, 9 Indonesian universities are listed in the WUR list. Universitas Hasanuddin ranked #6 in Indonesia and #801+ in the world.
(3) Physical Sciences:
Out of 10 Indonesian universities in the WUR list, Universitas Hasanuddin places the top 3 in Indonesian and is ranked 801-1000 globally.
The assessment conducted by THE WUR by Subject is intended to see the performance of universities based on specific fields of science. There are five indicators assessed: Citation, industry income, international outlook, research, and teaching.
In addition, there are four ranking variables involved, including the number of full-time equivalency students, students per staff, international students, and students (female: male) ratio.
The Director of Communications of Unhas, Ir. Suharman Hamzah, Ph.D., explained that Universitas Hasanuddin must be proud of this accomplishment because Unhas, for the first time, achieves the recognition of World Class University by Subject.
“This achievement is the result of a collaborative effort which is simultaneously carried out by all of the parties in Unhas. We should be proud of this achievement. Unhas has proven itself as a World Class University.” said Suharman
On the other hand, THE WUR by social sciences and humanities subject will be announced on October 13th and November 3rd, 2021.
