Unhas Rector Prof. Dr. Dwia Aries Tina Pulubuhu, MA hoped that the Information system management of Unhas developed by the Center for Technological Information and Communication (PTIK) can be further completed. This is crucial so that the latest information on Unhas can be accessed for evaluative or planning purposes. The hopes were stated by the Unhas Rector while observing the database systems of information in the PTIK office Rectorate Building, Unhas, Monday (20/6)
According to the Unhas Rector, the most vital matter in need to be modified is the section for human resources, as well as the assets of Unhas. “Data on the status of human resources owned by Unhas is the most crucial element. This is a necessity for evaluation purposes and also to show important guests that visit Unhas, so that later on we can access it directly during that particular demanded time. Plus, not only is the contemporary conditions are of the vital essence, as the history section also is critical. Therefore decisions in relation to the Unhas plans of development can be taken,” explained Dwia.
The first step here, continued Dwia, is to make an inventory of the public data, that is, of course, crucial for planning and evaluation. “For example faculties need to make a list of equipments owned. To agree or disagree of such a proposal, must be supported with fast accessed information,” stated Dwia. “If possible, the letters dispositioned can be tracked of its location,” hoped Dwia.
Same thing was stated by the Head of LKPP Unhas Prof. Dr. Diraya Rauf, DEA, that the database, especially on human resources, is of crucial importance, especially for accreditation purposes and study program evaluation. “If there is a reviewer that makes a visit to Unhas, we can directly show them what they need,” stated Diraya.
Director of PTIK Unhas Dr. Niswar, S.T., MT. promised that they would make continuous modifications so that the database can be the foundation of planning and decision-making process, but he also explained the current conditions of the PTIK as of now still lacks human resources, especially programmers. “We still lack developers. But we will do our best to fulfill the hopes of the Rector,” he stated.
During the opportunity, also was present Vice Rector I Prof. Dr. Junaedi Muhidon, M.Sc., Vice Rector IV Prof. dr. Budu, Ph.D., and University Secretary Dr. Nasruddin Salam, MT.
