The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the Hasanuddin University Center committed to maximizing their duties and functions. Following up on this, the Unhas SDGs Center conducted a seminar and the Launch of the SDGs Stunting Center. This activity took place in Prof. Fachruddin Hall, Graduate School, Thursday (01/08).
This event was opened by Dean of Graduate School, Prof. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, Ph.D. In his welcoming remark, Prof. Jamaluddin described that SDGs Center of Unhas has done many activities for institutional strengthening. SDGs Center of Unhas commits to be a network point in Eastern Indonesia.
To realize this commitment, the SDGs center works not only for a certain institution but also embraces all campus units to collaborate to strengthen institutions.
"The Unhas SDGs was just launched at the beginning of the year. For this reason, we strengthen our network, not only from below but also from above. Therefore, Unhas SDGs is getting stronger and be able to carry out its tasks and functions according to the 17 expected achievement points, "said the professor of marine who is familiarly called Prof. JJ.
The Launching of SDGs Stunting Center at Universitas Hasanuddin was carried out by Dr. Nina Sardjunani, MA. (Team Leader of SDGs Secretariat, Bappenas RI). She hoped that Unhas SDGs Center can maximize its role in meeting the defined goals.
“Hopefully, Unhas SDGs Center can be a problem-solving in development. Especially after the stunting center, hopefully, it will further strengthen this institution. I am optimistic that it can be a network point in Eastern Indonesia according to what Prof. JJ said earlier,” said Dr. Nina
After the launching of SDGs Stunting Center, it was continued with Seminar related to Stunting. The first session of the seminar discussed about Stunting Phenomena in the perspective of SDGs. The speaker is Dr. Kirana Pristasi, MQIH (Director General of Public Health, Ministry of Health of Republic of Indonesia) who presented a topic of “Arah Kebijakan Percepatan Penurunan Stunting di Indonesia”.
Meanwhile, Dr. Nina Sardjunani presented a topic about "Peran Universitas dalam Pencapaian Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (TPB/SDGs) di Indonesia". Muh. Yusri Zamhuri, MA, Ph.D. who is the Director Executive of SDGs Center at Universitas Hasanuddin took part as a moderator/mediator.
This event was attended by more than 10 participants from Unhas Academic Community including students. It ended at 13.00 WITA.(*)
