Universitas Hasanuddin, through the Graduate School (SPS), held a Graduate Seminar Series with the theme of “Charting a Roadmap of Your Life Journey.” The activity that invited Dato Professor Dr. Sudin Haron (Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Universiti Utara Malaysia) took place at Baruga Fachruddin, Unhas Graduate School, Tamalanrea Campus, Makassar, on Thursday (05/02).
The Dean of the Postgraduate School of Hasanuddin University (Prof. Jamaluddin Jompa, Ph.D.), delivered a welcome speech and introduction to the seminar. Professor Jamaluddin Jompa, who is familiarly called Prof. JJ, said that the Graduate Seminar Series is a routine activity of the Graduate School.
“Every month, we hold several seminar series that invite speakers with exceptional qualifications and competencies from domestic and international levels,” said Prof. JJ
On occasion, Unhas academicians, especially Graduate School students from various fields of science, can gain many things, both new knowledge, and insight, speakers’ experiences, as well as inspiration and motivation.
“This academic platform needs to be maintained, not only to improve knowledge and insight but also to increase life skills. I feel his material today will lead to all disciplines,” explained Prof. JJ.
Dato Professor Dr. Sudin Haron said that the roadmap is one of the elements that students need to possess, so they have guidelines for carrying out daily activities. It is related to plans to achieve hopes about life.
“Everyone should have a roadmap, which is a road map to live life in a systematic and planned way,” said Dato’ Sudin.
According to Dato’ Sudin, there are many views about the definition of success. He has his opinions. Success is when humans can be grateful and have the courage and determination to realize their life goals.
“Life is a journey from one pole to another. The perfection of life is the ultimate goal of this imperfect life; the meaning of life is the key to human existence,” added Dato Sudin.
Dato Professor Sudin Haron’s material, which provided a lot of inspiration and motivation to deal with life, attracted the participants to discuss Various questions about the views and personal experiences of the speaker who has a background in the field of Islamic economics.
The activity which attended around 60 participants from lecturers and students of the Graduate School of Universitas Hasanuddin ended at 12.00 West Indonesian Time.
