Through the Division of Publication, Community Service, and International Affairs, the Faculty of Medicine (FK), Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) successfully held an International Guest Lecture on Friday, 22 May 2026. The event took place at the Prof. Amiruddin Auditorium of FK UNHAS, featuring an international keynote speaker, Dr. Hairulnizam Ibrahim from the International Medical School, Management and Science University (MSU), Malaysia.
The event was officially opened by the Vice Dean for Publication, Community Service, and International Affairs of the FK UNHAS, Prof. Dr. dr. Rina Masadah, Sp.PA(K)., M.Phil., DFM. In her remarks, she emphasised the importance of international collaboration and knowledge exchange in enhancing the quality of medical education, as well as broadening the horizons of students and the academic community.
On this occasion, Dr. Hairulnizam Ibrahim delivered a presentation titled “Physical Activity and Cardiometabolic Health: From Mechanism to Clinical Application.” The lecture was attended by undergraduate students enrolled in the Community Medicine course, along with faculty lecturers. The material presented explored the relationship between physical activity and cardiometabolic health, spanning from biological mechanisms to clinical implementations in disease prevention and management. Participants showed great enthusiasm throughout the presentation and the interactive discussion session that followed.
This International Guest Lecture is expected to serve as a platform for academic development and to strengthen the international network between FK UNHAS and foreign educational institutions.
