Ambassador of Japan to Indonesia Visits Hasanuddin University to Strengthen Partnerships

The Rector of Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc., in person welcomed the visit of the Japanese Ambassador H.E. Kanasugi Kenji and his entourage at 14.00 CIT in the Rector’s Office, 8th Floor of the UNHAS Rectorate Building, Tamalanrea Campus, on Wednesday, March 1, 2023. Prof. drg. Muhammad Ruslin, M.Kes., Sp.BM (K). (Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs), Prof. Ir. Sumbangan Baja, M.Phil, Ph.D. (Secretary of UNHAS), Ansariadi, SKM., M.Sc.PH., Ph.D., (The Director of Partnership), and Muhammad Ridwan, M.A. (Secretary of the International Office) were also present at the meeting. The Ambassador’s entourage included Yahata Hironori (First Secretary), Furunobu Koichi (Third Secretary), Katsunobu (Head of Office) and Monica (Staff of the Information and Culture Section).

the Rector of UNHAS, who is also famous as Prof. JJ, said that the cooperation between UNHAS and the Japanese government had been established for a long time through a number of cooperation programs with universities in various scientific fields. Furthermore, Prof. JJ hopes that UNHAS cooperation with Japan can be expanded with various innovation programs, especially in providing the best educational opportunities for students and lecturers in carrying out the Tridharma of higher education (three pillars include Education, research, and Community Service).

On the same occasion, Japanese Ambassador H.E. Kanasugi Kenji during his visit expressed his gratitude for the hospitality from the Rector of UNHAS and the leadership. He hopes that the cooperation that has been very well established can be maintained and strengthened with various collaborative educational programs. According to him, UNHAS with all its advantages in various scientific fields can be a great opportunity to exchange information in assessing its potential, in order to strengthen cooperation aimed at improving the quality and capacity of human resources.

Furthermore, the Japanese Ambassador H.E. Kanasugi Kenji said that the cooperation between the two countries and cultures is unique. the meeting aims for us to get to know each other, and be able to work together by sharing common goals through the same vision and mission in order to achieve the best education system. Thus, it certainly requires the support of various parties to implement future cooperation.
