An Alumnus of Universitas Hasanuddin Launches Start-up Helper Indonesia, Connecting Job Seekers

Rizky Eka Arlin, S.T., an alumnus of the Informatics Study Program at the Faculty of Engineering from Class of 2021, Universitas Hasanuddin, is a co-founder of HELPer Indonesia, a hub of information for job seekers. The start-up, found in 2018, has reduced unemployment problems for more than 7 million people.

Through an interview (Thursday, 16/9), Rizky, familiarly known, explained that he has been interested in the world of information technology since he was in junior high school (SMP). Therefore, he decided to join the Informatics Engineering study program when he moved up to university.

“When I was in college, I wanted to be an entrepreneur to support my family finances. In the 4th semester, I founded a consulting company in the field of technology utilization with friends who are also interested in the same thing,” explained Rizky.

The dream of becoming an entrepreneur is realized by leading PT. Informatics Solutions Carakde has helped many parties transform and accelerate by utilizing information technology to achieve their targets.

The latest project of PT. Carakde is walet.vip, which plays a role in increasing the production of swallow nests. This project received financial assistance from the Ministry of Research and Technology/National Research and Innovation Agency. His passion for IT was even more proven when he was involved in HELPer Indonesia, which was inspired by his social awareness about unemployment issues in our society.

According to Rizky, Indonesia, with the value of Gotong Royong (collaboration), is a significant potential to help people in need. HELPer Indonesia is here hoping that the app can become a bridge of sustenance for those who do not have permanent jobs. Of course, it will have an impact on decreasing the unemployment rate in Indonesia.

One of the missions of HELPer Indonesia is to improve the standard of living of workers/ freelancers and service providers by providing the best and professional services.

“We need each other. HELPer Indonesia is here for people who need the help of others with the services offered, such as shopping, delivering goods, personal assistants, lifting goods, queuing, and private drivers,” added Rizky.

Rizky admits that working in the start-up world has ups and downs. The world of the start-up has become a means of learning various things, including knowledge and experience. There will be many challenges that require more energy and time to prepare. He hopes that the contribution can impact the community, increasing welfare for those in need.
