FIBAA Conducts Quality Assessments for Master and Doctoral Study Programs, Universitas Hasanuddin

The Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) conducted a visitation aiming to assess three study programs at Master and Doctoral levels at the Faculty of Agriculture and the Faculty of Economics and Business. The three study programs are Masters in Agribusiness, Masters in Development Economics and Planning, and Doctoral Program in Economics.

The opening of the visitation was commenced at 15.30 WITA offline with the implementation of the Covid-19 protocol in the Unhas Academic Senate Room, 2nd Floor of the Rectorate Building, Makassar. This activity was also connected virtually through the Zoom Meeting application, Monday (07/02).

The Rector of Unhas, Prof. Dr. Dwia Aries Tina Pulubuhu, MA., Academic Senates, Professors, Representatives of the Board of Trustees (MWA), Vice-Rectors, directors, and deans of Unhas were also present to witness the visitation process.

The Rector of Unhas, Prof. Dwia, stated that the study program assessment at Unhas was intended to encourage and motivate quality improvement at the international level. In addition, this process also provided opportunities for network development and expansion of partnerships with other institutions around the world.

“Now, Unhas is 65 years old with PTN-BH acknowledgment which has its own autonomy. We are very glad to have the opportunity for an assessment from FIBAA. Unhas is prepared to answer questions and provide things needed during the assessment process. Unhas is now ranked 5th nationally from the Kemendikbudristek, this accreditation will certainly support and become a new soul for Unhas to continue to improve quality,” Prof. Dwia explained.

Additionally, Prof. Dwia said Unhas has been committed to maintaining quality since its inception in 1956. As the largest university in Eastern Indonesia, Unhas has presented more than 213 study programs consisting of 10 vocational programs, 67 undergraduate programs, 69 master programs, 28 programs doctoral programs, 8 professional programs, and 31 specialist programs with around 35,000 students.

FIBAA is a European Accreditation agency that implements quality assurance and quality development for higher education based in Bonn, Germany. This institution was established in 2002. The assessment process is scheduled to last until Wednesday (09/02). The FIBAA assessors consisted of Friderike Uphoff, Bodo Risch, Michael Koch, Slauderer HSWeilhenstep, Johannes Stephan, Niklas Heuser and Ibnu Qizam.

After the opening speech, there was a question and answer session regarding the general description of Unhas; which was then continued with the assessment process for each study program. The implementation of the first day is scheduled to last until 19.30 WITA.
