Keio University Japan and 4 Unhas Faculties to Engage Upon a MoU

Keio University in Japan engaged upon cooperation (memorandum of understanding/ MoU) with four faculties of Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas), Thursday (4/8), which included the Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, and the Faculty of Marine Sciences and Fisheries, meanwhile for Keio, the partnership encompassed the Faculty of Policy Management, Graduate School of Media and Governance, and the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies.

For Unhas, the signing of the MoU was represented by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Prof. Dr. Gagaring Pagalung, M.Si.Ak., and Prof. Dr. Andi Alimuddin Unde from the Faculty of Social and Political Science. Meanwhile, for Keio University, the representatives include the Dean of Graduate School of Media and Governance Prof. Yasushi Kiyaki, Dean of Policy Management Prof. Takeshi Kawazoe, and the Dean Faculty of Environment and Information Studies Prof. Jun Murai. During the signing of the Mou, Keio University was represented by Prof. yasushi Ikeda and Prof. Tomoyuki Furutani

The aspects of partnerships agreed upon include in the fields of information and research exchanges, exchanges of staffs and students (Bachelors and Graduate Programs), develop research collaborations, as well as invitations to seminars and conferences.

Keio University was established in 1858 by Yukichi Fukuzawa, knoewn as an intellectual leader with elements of being a visionary and respectful, as then the Institution was the first modern university in Japan to be established. Half a century following, the university has positioned itself as one of the leading universities in both Japan and Asia, based on its commitments in the fields of education, research, and medicine.

Keio University consists of ten faculties for Bachelors programs, and 14 Graduate Schools in its six main campuses located in Tokyo. The Institute consists of 33.000 students, 4.800 lecturer and staff administrators.

The campuses comprise of the Mita Campus located in the central city of Tokyo with four faculties, including Literacy, Economics, Law, and Business Trades. Hiyoshi Campus is the venue for all faculties besides three faculties that are located in Shonan Fujisawa Campus (SFC). Yagami Campus consists of two faculties and the Science and Technology Graduate School. The Shinanomachi Campus is where the Graduate School resides. Meanwhile for the SFC locations consists of the Faculty of Policy Management, Environment and Information Studies, and Nursery and Medical Treatment.

Students graduating from the Media and Management also take lectures on campus. The campus of Shiba-Kyoritsu is the location of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Graduate School of Pharmacy.

Keio University has expanded its partnerships to 250 partnering universities and organizations in more than 40 countries, including in the fields of education research. The events conducted include student exchanges with partnering institutions. The exchange further guarantees a highly qualified learning process in reputable institutions of Japan, and conduct collaborative projects.

In the institutional level, collaborative research projects are conducted with many organizations all over the world. Keio also consists of six offices overseas, including in New York, London, Seoul, Singapore, Beijing, and Shanghai.
