Seventeen students from Hankuk University, South Korea, Wednesday (20/7) were received by the Unhas Rector Prof. Dr. Dwia Aries Tina Pulubuhu, M.A. in the 8th floor of the Unhas Rectorate Building. During her welcoming remarks, the Director of International Partnership Ir. Iqbal Djawad M.Sc., Ph.D, accompanied the Unhas Rector. Meanwhile, the students were taken by the Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Studies Unhas Prof. Drs. Burhanuddin Arafah, M.Hum, Ph.D. and the Head of the Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) Unhas Prof. Dr. Lukman, M.S.
Dwia Aries Tina Pulubuhu that took a quick selfie along with the gorgeous Korean students greeted them with full of joy and hoped that their presence for three weeks in Unhas, can result in them to have sufficient understandings on the language, culture, and Indonesian literature from FIB Unhas.
“The Korean students present today are specially registered as Unhas students, therefore will obtain a certificate,” stated Dwia.
“Unhas Rector also hoped that the Korean students while temporarily residing in South Sulawesi, can visit several parts of the Unhas campuses, such as the Marine Station in Barrang Lompo Islands, Educational Forest Bengo-Bengo in the Maros Regency, and the Gowa Campus of Faculty of Engineering Unhas.”
The welcoming itself marks the numerous amounts of times that Korean students visited Unhas. A couple of weeks past, three to five Korean students studied Indonesian Literature in Unhas for a semester.
