The Secretariat of AUN-QA which is based in Bangkok, Thailand finally announced that four study programs at Unhas have met the AUN-QA criteria. Those are Communication studies, (Faculty of social and political science), Archeology (Faculty of Cultural Sciences), Agricultural Engineering (Faculty of Agriculture), and Animal Husbandry (Faculty of Animal Husbandry).
This news was stated by the Director of Communication at the University of Hasanuddin Suharman Hamzah, Ph.D on Wednesday, May 28, 2019. "This is a blessing of Ramadan. After the four study programs were visited by the assessor in the beginning of last April, we finally received the results, and all of them were declared to meet the criteria,"Suharman said.
Previously, on 10th to 12th April 2019, nine assessors from four different countries conducted a visitation (field observations), to confirm the Self Assessment Report (SAR) prepared by AUN-QA task force team of Unhas in advance. The preparation of the SAR document itself was carried out for more than a year.
The assessment of the quality on academic process in each study program which referred by the AUN-QA is based on 11 criteria: Expected Learning Outcomes (learning objectives), Program Specification (related to curriculum structure), Program Structure and Contents (related to the structure and contents of the course), Teaching and Learning Approach (learning method), Student Assessment, Academic Staff Quality (quality of lecturers), Supporting Staff Member Quality (quality of administrative staff), Student Quality and Support, Facilities and Infrastructures, Quality Enhancement (quality development plan), and Output quality.
In the visitation process, the assessor team not only looked at the detail of academic facilities and its processes, but also invited various parties including alumni, the users of alumni, and administrative staffs who were also involved in the interview process.
The Rector of Unhas, Prof. Dr. Dwia Aries Tina Pulubuhu, MA expresses her gratitude and pride of this achievement. This is the result of our hard work and the entire elements from the deans, head of the study programs and also the task force team.
"Congratulations and thank you for the hard work of the study program team, as well as the support of the dean and staffs, not to mention the support and assistance from the university task force team. This achievement really makes me proud, especially for the study program who obtained a high score. I hope this achievement will be a trigger for us to improve the quality of the academic process in our campus, "said Prof. Dwia.
With this proud achievement, Unhas has now listed 17 study programs that have met the AUN-QA namely:
