Out of all the provinces of the Joint Selection of Higher Level Public Educational Enrollment (SBMPTN) 2016 average score from the Science and Technology group, South Sulawesi is yet to be part of the classification. Out of all the provinces, the average attained score for Sciences and Technology group is dominated by the SLA outside of Java and Sumatera. Starting from North Kalimantan and Bali in the South, the average score is of immense superiority in comparison to the Eastern regions of the Republic, with no institution included in the top 10 categories.
The data obtained from the central committee of SBMPTN 2016 shows that the highest ranked province in this category is attained by DKI (average score 623.91), followed by DIY (611.07), Bantaeng (601.36), Central Java (595.49), West Java (591.69), East Java (583.60), Lampung (565.39), West Sumatera (560.39), South Sumatera (558.16), and Riau (556.79).
The participants with the highest scores for the group of Science and Technology is obtained by the School of Technology Electro and Informatics ITB with the score of 934.45, meanwhile for social-humanitarian group achieved by the Law Studies of Universitas Airlangga (Unair) with a score of 842.69.

Based on the announcement of the Central Committee on SBMPTN, the participants that passed will be verified and selected based on the economic capacities in financing their studies in the institution accepted.
